These stories were created for an ESL textbook. The goal was to develop short, four-panel flash fiction narratives—some expanding into mini-series—that combined meaningful topics with targeted grammar learning.
They addressed themes such as environmental destruction and change (and hopeful restoration), sustainability, gender equality, social inequalities, food waste, friendship, hope, and resilience.
The illustrations were an important part of the design—they provided context, helped students understand the story, and kept them engaged.
