Kia ora and konnichiwa!

I’m an illustrator and author from Aotearoa New Zealand, now based in Tokyo, Japan. With a Bachelor of Visual Arts from Auckland University of Technology, I’ve spent over a decade creating educational materials, including English-language textbooks and bilingual storybooks, alongside freelance illustration and writing.

My picture book The Pōhutukawa Christmas Tree (Bateman Books, 2024) was a Top Ten New Zealand bestseller in the YA and Children’s category.

I create stories inspired by curiosity, adventure, and the sense of wonder that can be found in both the world around us and the worlds we imagine. I am particularly drawn to curious characters, visual storytelling, and stories that encourage exploration, discovery, and connection.
